OtraRuta
Native app and full brand system.

Context
OtraRuta is a cultural exploration app for the Cardenal Caro province, in Chile’s O’Higgins Region. Through an interactive map with geolocated audiovisual capsules, it connects the towns of Litueche, La Estrella and Marchigüe, gathering stories, images and sounds of the local heritage to be discovered on site or from afar.
The project needed two things from scratch: a clear digital product and its own brand identity. My role spanned both —I designed the native iOS app, defined the user flows and built the entire brand, delivered with a manual.

Process
I started by mapping the user flows from the project’s goal —touring the territory and discovering its heritage— and organized the navigation around the interactive map and its geolocated points. I designed the app in native iOS, following the system’s language (Human Interface) so it would feel at home on the device.
In parallel I developed the full brand identity —logo, color, typography and visual system— and documented it in a deliverable brand manual, so the identity would stay consistent beyond the product.

Solution
A clear iOS app to explore Cardenal Caro’s heritage from a map, with audiovisual capsules accessible on site or from afar, held together by a coherent, documented brand identity.
Impact
OtraRuta reached the App Store as a tool to showcase local heritage, with product and brand aligned from day one. The brand manual left a solid foundation for the identity to stay consistent going forward.
